How to Add a U.S. Address to your Canadian Credit Card

Posted: October 19, 2014

If you shop online with a U.S. retailer that doesn’t ship to Canada and try to have your goods shipped to a U.S. address, you may encounter a common problem: Your order won’t be processed if you try to pay with a Canadian credit card.

In many cases, this problem can be solved by adding your U.S. shipping address to your Canadian credit card before you make your online purchase from a U.S. website. Simply call your credit card company, ask them to add a secondary address to your account and provide them with your U.S. shipping address. In most cases, they will oblige you.

Once your U.S. shipping address is added to your credit card, use that address when entering your credit card information to make a purchase from a U.S. website that won’t accept your Canadian address.
